What are the options present in Internet Optimizer?

  1. Internet Data Receive Buffer
This is the most important buffer in which all the data coming from internet get stored and processed one by one. If this buffer set to small value it will limit you maximum throughput (the server will wait for acknowledgement of received data). And hence decreases the speed of internet.
  2. Life of data sent over the net
This option provides data a life in the network; it means data transferred over the net will be discarded after some period of time if it does not reach to its destination. It is necessary to remove the data that doesn't reach to its destination in certain time limit.
  3. Enable flow of control information
This option enables the flow of control messages over the net. It is necessary to have control information of data for better transmission and also control messages are needed to find out the Internet Data Receive Buffer (option #1 ). Control information also helps in retransmission of lost data.
  4. Set Selective Acknowledgement
This option gives both the sender as well as receiver to acknowledge selected data transferred over the net. With this option set transmission of data over the net becomes faster since both the sender as well as receiver will not wait for each data received acknowledgement.
  5. Retransmission of lost data
This parameter improves the performance in case of data lost during fast transmission over the network. Enabling duplicate acknowledgements of retransmitted lost data reduces further transmission of already received data and hence optimizes downloading / surfing on the network.
  6. Number of request to a web server
This option provides the user to send maximum number of request to the web server. By default you are allowed with only 2 requests at a time to a web server. That means, while downloading a web page you can only get 2 files at a time. Note that a single page usually includes tens (sometimes hundreds) of images, each initiating a separate request to the server. Optimizing this setting can provide a considerable visible boost in web page loading time, especially for broadband internet connections.
  7. Avoid unnecessary storage of error pages.
This option provides windows with the ability not to store the error pages that have been tried to access by the user. By default whenever user try to connect to a site windows stores each of the page information in memory and on next visit when windows gets request for stored pages it just displays that page without any pre processing. However windows also store the unnecessary information of error or failed pages. With this option we can avoid the storage of error or failed pages.
  8. Maximum Size of Data sent over the net
This option provides transfer of data over the net in large amount. By default data is sent over the net in small segments which increases the processing since each segment is processed separately it will decrease the speed of transmission. By setting this option speed of data transfer can be increased considerably.
  9. Web page processing priority
This option is used to set the priority of processing a web page request. Whenever we request for a particular page for example www.google.com it needs to be processed to find actual address. This processing is a particular service and has is own priority if this priority is optimized we can load page faster.
